In 2008, the Institute of the Lithuanian Language has organized the following scientific conferences:
November 12–14, the 5th international conference Languages, Cultures and Writing Traditions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (LDK kalbos, kultūros ir raštijos tradicijos) took place at the Institute of the Lithuanian Language in Vilnius and at the Lithuanian House in Sejny (Poland). The conference was organized by the Lituanica Group (Department of Onomastics, ILL) in co-operation with the centre of cultures, arts and nations Pogranicze in Sejny and Lithuanian Association in Poland.
October 16–17, the international scientific conference Development of Linguistic Thought in the 16th–21st Centuries (Lingvistinės minties raida XVI–XXI amžiuje) commemorating the 355th anniversary of Grammatica Litvanica by Daniel Klein was held in Kaliningrad (Russia). The conference was organized by the Institute of the Lithuanian Language in co-operation with Imanuel Kant State University of Russia.
April 23–25, the international scientific conference Lexicology and Terminology: theory, practice, history devoted to Jonas Kruopas on the 100th anniversary of his birth was held at the Institute of the Lithuanian Language. |
