BALTŲ ONOMASTIKOS TYRIMAI [Research Into Baltic Onomastics] Comp. Laimutis Bilkis This book contains articles based on papers read at the International Aleksandras Vanagas Conference held on November 11–12, 2004. JUOZAS SENKUS. KALBOTYROS DARBAI [Juozas Senkus. Linguistic Works] Comp. Danguolė Mikulėnienė, Rasa Senkutė-Kašėtienė Juozas Senkus (1907–1970) was a noted Lithuanian dialectologist who laid the foundation for Lietuvių kalbos atlasas [Atlas of the Lithuanian Language] and organized the first dialectological expeditions. This scholar also made a substantial contribution to the great Lietuvių kalbos žodynas [Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language] and to Lithuanian onomastics. He collected many place and personal names and delved into their correct forms, accentuation, and spelling. This linguist also contributed a great deal to the standardization of Lithuanian, especially of Lithuanian pronunciation. He determined many patterns of accentuation and ascertained the correct use of individual words and their forms. He published several dozen articles on correct usage. In them, he dealt with various questions of orthography, pronunciation and accentuation, morphology, word formation, lexis, case usage, etc. This book contains almost all of this linguist’s scholarly legacy.
