One of the key trends of the activity of the Institute is dissemination of Lithuanistics all over the world. Therefore the Institute takes care to maintain research centres of Baltic and Lithuanian studies abroad, traditional well-established relations with specialists of Baltic studies in Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Latvia, Ukraine, Switzerland, USA, Poland, France and other countries. The above specialists receive all new research literature on a regular basis, joint conferences and seminars are held. The researchers of the Institute work as visiting professors in many universities of the world. Moreover, the Institute is a member of various international organizations.
